South End Open Studios 2012

Today is the first of two days this weekend when all of the Artists in Boston's burgeoning South End Arts District will throw their doors open and show you how they create their magic. You can find a map of the event HERE. South End Open Studios goes both days from 11-6. Hope that you can find something interesting to buy, and support local artists and artisans!

I will be at ASKlabs documentary Film HQ: 46 Waltham St,. 3rd Flr, 303A working on designing postcards and posters for the upcoming Museum of Science screening of "Lightning Dreams: The Electrum at Gibbs Farm" BUY TICKETS HERE. I will also be putting the finishing touches on a microdocumentary entitled, "Putting it Together: The Modular Car" about a remarkable group of young MIT engineers who have formed the VEHICLE DESIGN SUMMIT. They have big plans to revolutionize and "green up" the automobile industry, and I think they just might accomplish it. If you want to catch me and give me some feedback on my graphic design, or new film, I'll be there Saturday from 11-1 & 4-6 and Sunday from 1:30-6. Stop on by!

ASKlabs is also pleased to host Silkstone jewelry ("LIKE" Silkstone on FB!) for South End Open Studios this year. Do stop by and see the lovely and inspired gemstone-based jewelry that Gitika Desai has been creating. Her pieces are unique and always get compliments. I have several necklaces and bracelets and have also gifted her beautiful baubles to dear friends and family.

Help Build a Tesla Museum!

No one deserves a museum more than Nikola Tesla, the most forgotten genius there ever was. The "Oatmeal Guy" aka Matthew Inman of Seattle, WA is spearheading a monumental effort to do so. NIKOLA TESLA SCIENCE CENTER

I vote that Greg Leyh of Lightning on Demand gets hired to build the mother of all tesla coils for this brilliant proposed museum. The coil could be enclosed in a glass dome so those in airplanes flying overhead can witness its spectacular displays. (A nod to Steve Hollinger for that idea)
